SPRINGFIELD,  Ma.– There are now openings for Information Warfare professionals in the Navy Reserve.  Information Warfare Officers’ specialized knowledge and expertise, coupled with their security clearances, make them highly valuable in the civilian sector as well as for possible future employment with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) or National Security Agency (NSA). About this Job: Information Warfare Officers in the Navy Reserve work with military information security, contributing to sensitive initiatives through the application of cryptology – specifically cryptography and cryptanalysis. In this role:

  • Utilize information technology expertise to ensure battlespace dominance and mission success
  • Qualify as an Operations Watch Officer, responsible for real-time signal intelligence collection, processing, analysis and reporting
  • Computer network operations
  • Develop and acquire cutting-edge exploitation and defense systems
  • Lead Information Dominance personnel across the spectrum of military operations
  • Process real-time signal intelligence
  • Plan and deliver information warfare effects during exercises and operations

Qualifications and Requirements: Candidates must satisfy specific criteria that vary, depending upon military backgroud: whether currently serving, having served before or having never served.

  • U.S. citizenship: Required for individual and immediate family (Due to the classified nature of the Information Warfare field)
  • Special background investigation/Top Secret security clearance: Required
  • Gender: Male or female
  • Age: 19 to 35
  • Degree: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year U.S. college or university. (Those with a high school diploma or equivalent may qualify for a similar career in Intelligence.)
  • Physical fitness test: Required
  • Service commitment: Minimum of three years of Reserve Duty
